Welcome to the 2017 | 2018 Performance Season
Season 15: Innovation & Inspiration

Traditions Reimagined
Saturday, October 21 at 7:30pm | First Evangelical Lutheran Church
1311 Holman Street, Houston TX 77004.

This year marks the 450th anniversary of Claudio Monteverdi’s birth, and we celebrate his life by performing some of his – and his contemporaries’ – most influential works. Paired with each Baroque master’s “innovation” will be a 20th-century composer’s “reimagining” of the same piece. We are excited to have  Houston Boychoir , whose mission is to build men of character through music, make a special guest appearance during the concert.

Featured are Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied by Heinrich Schütz and Hugo Distler, Hear My Prayer by Henry Purcell and Sven-David Sandström, and three of Claudio Monteverdi’s madrigals with modern interpretations of the same text by Morten Lauridsen. This is a concert you don’t want to miss!

Online ticket sales for Traditions Reimagined are now closed, but we are selling tickets at the door. We look forward to seeing you at the concert!

Please also save the dates for "Glad Tidings" on December 17-19 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and our 15th Anniversary Concert on April 7 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church: tickets available soon. Or you can purchase Season Tickets below to attend all three of our Season 15 concerts!
